Introducing Transition Bikes at Hyland Cyclery!

We are always looking for great new product. With the Canyons bike park and Deer Valley's original style downhill trails growing more popular, we knew it was time to fill another niche.

We went on a search, listened to customers, followed the bike buzz, and decided to partner up with the folks from Transition Bikes. This company located in Washington state has been building an arsenal of mountain bikes for over 10 years. Transition has the ride time and testing to prove its bikes are tough and worth the pursuit of a new bike purchase! With their full line up of downhill/freeride bikes, cross country/pedal friendly bikes, all the way down to dirt jumpers and a retro throwback Klunker, we knew it would be a good bike company to team up with!

Two bikes that really stood out to us for fun and functionality right out of the box were the TR250 and Klunker models.

The TR250 is a 180mm (7 inch) travel DH/Freeride bike that is built to be a full blown trail shredder! The TR250's build kit is on point. It features SRAM drivetrain components, AVID Code brakes and suspension handled by Fox Racing Shox with a Kashima coated Van 180mm coil fork and DHX RC2 coil rear shock. Handling is provided by Kore with their 800mm wide handlebars and short 35mm stem with traction by Maxxis with High Roller 2 tires. Simply put, this bike is right at home sending booters or hugging hard in a big flowy berm! The TR250 has been getting great media response and  was even voted top 100 products of 2012 by The Dirt Magazine. The only thing missing from this bike is a rider to push it!

Up next is the all new, all old school Klunker. This blast from the past beast is bringing old school riding and design to a new school group looking for a good time! This bike features absolutely no new technology. Full chromoly frame and fork, wide moto bars, 3 piece cranks with beefy DH tires, and a coaster brake for stopping. Yes, you read that right, a coaster brake! It takes all your favorite trails and turns them in to a whole new ride. If you aren't looking to rip trails, it works as a fun city slayer or the best looking booze cruiser you have set your eyes on! All it takes is a test ride to know you need to own this bike and at only 549 bucks you already know that your garage has a little more free space for the Klunker!

Check back with us soon as we get more ride time on these, along with some follow up reviews. We may even throw in a few more bikes to rant about. Get out on a ride and happy trails!
