Spring Ride on Legacy Parkway

The weather was great this weekend and it is only getting warmer! We can't wait for spring!

The warm temperatures and sun convinced us to get out for a ride on our road bikes. We were looking for something nice and mellow for our first ride of the season and decided we would give Legacy Parkway a try.

Legacy Parkway is a paved multi-use trail for cyclists, pedestrians and horses. The trail starts around I-215 and Legacy Highway and runs alongside Legacy Highway to Farmington. Jordan River Parkway also connects to this trail if you want to add even more miles to your ride. There are several trailheads where you can park and jump on the trail, making it easily accessible from North Salt Lake through Farmington. The trailheads are well marked and easy to find.

Legacy is 14 miles of flat paved trail, making this the perfect route for any level of rider. Many families were out with bikes and trailers riding easy along the trail. We liked this ride because it was so mellow and relaxing. It was nice to avoid traffic on the roads while still being able to ride on a smooth paved surface. Although the trail ran alongside Legacy Highway, we hardly even noticed the sound of the cars. Maybe we were just having too much fun!

After the long cold winter it was nice to be back on our bikes cruising in the warm sunshine.  We recommend you give Legacy Parkway Trail a ride and by-the-way the weather looks great this week, so get out and ride your bike!
