Salt Lake City Bike Trails

The sun is finally shining, and hopefully is here to stay. To everyone here at Hyland Cyclery, this means it’s time to pull out our bikes and hit the trails. While places like Moab certainly have some fabulous trails, Salt Lake City has plenty as well. Here are some of our favorites.

If you’re looking to stay right in Salt Lake City, one trail we love is the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. This trail is great for those just getting into mountain biking, and we also think it’s a great way for expert riders to start out on the season. The majority of the trail is located in the mountains behind the University of Utah, just a short distance from downtown SLC. This is a great short ride to start your season with. Trailheads can be found between Emigration Canyon and City Creek Canyon, but our favorite is on Sunnyside Ave. right across from the Hogle Zoo.

If you’re looking for a more leisurely ride, we recommend either the Jordan River Parkway trail, located at 1200 W between North Salt Lake and Bluffdale, or the Legacy Parkway Trail, which starts at I-215 and 2100 N and continues 14 miles towards Lagoon. Both of these trails have little change in elevation and make for pretty easy, but certainly enjoyable, rides.

These are just two of our favorite trails, but we know plenty more! Please visit our website http://www.hylandcyclery.com/about/leisure-rides-pg99.htm to see more of our favorite trails. We’re also happy to recommend others or set up group rides.

What are some of your favorite rides? We’re always looking for another awesome trail to hit!
